Agile Coach Job Description

As part of our strategic investment and market expansion in Continental Europe we are looking to significantly strengthen our presence in the region. We are, therefore, looking for applicants who have a flair for new way of working, innovation, change management, mentoring, technology and are willing to take up challenging assignments.

As an Agile Coach, you will work on client-site engagements supporting the implementation of Agile and Lean methods and lead multi-year Enterprise Agile Transformations. You will contribute in conducting assessments for organizational readiness for Agile implementations as well as health of Agile implementations. You will provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, DevOps, Managers, Executives, and other Agile transformation partners through various Agile Frameworks to drive “value” at the right time in the right way.

Agile Coach Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide multiple Agile teams and support our client on their Agile journey: work with cross-functional, distributed teams to achieve higher levels of agility and drive adoption of best-practices of the agile methodology.
  • Drive Technology and Behavior change management, innovation and define new ways of working for customer and internal delivery team
  • Define KPIs to measure success and have right touchpoint to retrospect
  • Train/ facilitate and mentor distributed teams in overall agile/ lean values/ practices and specific frameworks/ methods/ way of working (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, SAFe etc.) to ensure best in class delivery. Build next level team to support the 
  • Generate client interest in solutions other than the current, proactively positions the company for additional/ added value work.
  • Represent in industry forums and speak on how Cognizant is bringing best practices in BizDevOps model
  • Coach teams through Agile ceremonies, including Iteration Planning, Daily Standup, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Demo, Retrospective, and PI Planning - transitioning responsibility to the team over time
  • Participate in proposals and create relevant content. Ensures quality estimates, leveraging past data, experience, other forms of estimation, other teams, etc.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, operate at senior management level to help innovation and ensure the medium and long term strategic goals of the organization are achieved.

Agile Coach Qualifications & Experience:

  • Seasoned Agile Coach with proven track record and rock solid, hands-on experience with agile/lean transformations and global delivery
  • Exposure to end-to-end software delivery, project management, enterprise architecture, DevOps toolchain and/or service management methodologies
  • Preferable good technical capabilities in any of the technology streams – Microsoft .NET, Java EE, SMAC (Social, media, Analytics and cloud) technologies
  • Large enterprise deployment experience in complex heterogeneous environments
  • Team player, applied facilitation and mentoring skills, in particular at team and individual level
  • Excellent influencing skills, in particular problem solving/troubleshooting activities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a resilient and flexible manner
  • Fluent in both German and English language skills (written, spoken) are a pre-requisite

Benchling is seeking an experienced Professional Services Engagement Manager to oversee implementations for our largest and most strategic enterprise customers. These implementations are generally multi-phased, 6-12 month, cross-departmental programs which require deploying Benchling into complex enterprise IT environments, interfacing with other vendor solutions, and legacy applications. This is a highly visible role, requiring you to partner with both external and internal teams to drive projects to successful completion.
The Engagement Manager leads the services team from project kick off to successful go live, and plays a key role in creating solutions that achieve our customer’s scientific and business outcomes. You will interface with both project team members and senior Scientific and IT leaders, establish credibility and confidence from the first meeting, and manage customer expectations throughout the project journey.
The Engagement Manager must be comfortable with Life Sciences R&D processes and scientific concepts, have experience with enterprise SaaS software implementations, and be adept at working with internal and external project teams. You must be able to translate customer objectives into detailed project plans, oversee projects, and drive execution.
You will be the project leader, and will be seen as a trusted advisor who has the customer’s best interests in mind, even when it means having a hard conversation, or convincing them that what they think they want may not be what they actually need, nor what Benchling best practices recommend.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Manage Professional Services engagements and provide oversight for our largest enterprise customers, covering multiple projects, with a focus on delivery of scope on time, within budget, and with high quality outcomes.
Establish and maintain relationships at all levels of the customer organization including project team members, executive sponsors & key stakeholders.
Partner with internal Benchling teams to translate client requirements, objectives, and goals into actionable designs and build plans that can be delivered against.
Manage the activities of the Benchling project team and drive execution of the project plan.
Set clear expectations with internal and external team members, and hold them accountable for deadlines and project deliverables.
Manage customer escalations, diagnose project issues and risks, develop contingency plans, and implement changes to drive risk mitigation.
Actively manage project financials, including team utilization, budget vs actual hours, project margin, travel and other expenses.
Run governance meetings and report regularly both internally and externally on project status, milestones, KPIs, accomplishments, and deliverables.
Identify, communicate, and work with sales to develop opportunities identified during project execution, collaborate on the creation of proposals, estimates, change orders, and new statements of work.
Work with Product Management and Engineering to scope and price proof of concepts or new and unique solutions that encompass various aspects of the product including extensions and customizations.
Document lessons learned and recommend process and methodology improvements to improve execution on future projects.

ABOUT YOU

At least 5 years client facing implementation and/or consulting experience, with demonstrated record of successfully managing enterprise scale projects.
BA/BS or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Genetics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or similar Life Science field. Prior experience in a lab or research setting highly preferred.
Experience working with Life Sciences companies with an understanding of R&D processes and scientific concepts. Must be able to confidently interface and build trust with scientists, IT, and Director/VP level audiences in top-20 Biotech and Pharma companies.
Proven experience leading 5-10+ person implementation teams to deliver multi-workstream projects.
Experienced in project management for enterprise software deployments including scope management, budget control, project and executive reporting, and project financials.
Understanding of project commercials including SOWs, budgeting, and resourcing.
Superior project management, organizational, and time management skills.

Medair is launching a new long-term static site in Jonglei State South Sudan. The nutrition manager is one of the key team members supporting the start-up of this exciting new project. Our Culture Key Activity Areas Nutrition Management Undertake the implementation, management, supervision and support of the assigned nutrition field interventions in line with the activity plan and time frame of the relevant project proposal and any applicable national and international guidelines and standards. Conduct daily supervision to clinics and other nutrition facilities for support and supervision. Provide training for local staff in line with the appropriate international and South Sudan guidelines. Ensure that regular monitoring and evaluation of intervention implementation. Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in the project. Oversee the process of data collection, collation and dissemination to meet the requirements and deadlines. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities for reports requested by field managers, GSO and donors. Input into the development of the country strategy, new projects and/or donor proposals. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

 

Within the UCN Cluster, the objectives of the Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) are to reduce the negative impact of endemic tropical diseases through the prevention, control, elimination and eradication of selected endemic tropical diseases, as specified in the WHO NTD Road Map: Accelerating work to overcome the Global Impact of Neglected Tropical Diseases: a roadmap for implementation (2020). To attain this, the Department prioritizes five public health strategies, namely: (i) preventive chemotherapy; (ii) innovative and intensified disease-management; (iii) vector control; (iv) safe water, sanitation and hygiene; and (v) veterinary public-health services to control neglected zoonotic diseases. The objective of the Department is to lead an efficacious and expanded effort to support Member States in the implementation of these strategies.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 

Under the direct supervision of the VVE Head and in close collaboration with Team Lead (PQ/VCP) the incumbent will be responsible for the following:VCAG activities:

1) Ensure the timely review of data and preparation of the meeting report through the following:

a. Working closely with the Project manager of VCAG, and building relationships with VCAG applicants of NTD vector control tools to ensure regular flow of information, including submission of data and review of draft meeting reports.

b. Provide an initial technical review of all information provided for the assessment of VCAG and seek clarification from applicants where required.

2) Participate regularly in secretariat meetings and support the planning and follow-up activities relating to VCAG meetings, including preparation of meeting reports.

3) Work closely with all members of the coordinating teams of VCAG, to develop/update technical and normative guidance documents, as well as the development of Preferred Product Characteristics that articulate WHO's identified public health needs in this area.

4) Organize Evidence Review Groups or other advisory groups at the request of WHO when additional expert advice related to VCAG's work is required.

5) Support the process of policy development and guideline updates related to new vector control interventions where required, including preparation of VCAG recommendations for presentation to the NTD management.

6) Develop and maintain communication tools and channels, including updating the websites on a quarterly basis.

7) Liaise with PQT-VCP on the development of the new PQT website to ensure appropriate alignment of information pertaining to vector control products and to provide input to inform PQT-VCP of VVE specific stakeholder needs.

8) Collaborate with PQT-VCP on the development of the vector control product label improvement plan which aims to improve current labelling in order to provide relevant vector control product information to internal and external partners and stakeholders and inform VCAG.GVCR activities:

9) Support the updating of online platforms for the reporting of activities performed under the umbrella of the GVCR.

10) In addition, support the management the WHO mailing list for vector control established under the umbrella of the Global Vector Control Response.

11) Support VVE unit in capacity building for GVCR implementation focused on NTD vectors.

12) Develop reports for senior management and stake holders upon request of PQT/VCP review technical documents developed by PQT/VCP to ensure alignment with NTD on technical issues and operational policy.

13) Support NTD departmental activities, by acting as the focal point of one of the specified priority countries. 14) Other tasks upon request of the Unit Head.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

Essential: A first university degree in public health, or medical entomology, or closely related field.

Desirable: An advanced university degree (Masters level or above) in public health, or medical entomology, or closely related field.

 

Experience

Essential: At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of trials to evaluate public health interventions and/or research in vector-borne diseases. At least 2 years' experience working independently in project coordination and/or management of a portfolio of vector control tools and associated research. Demonstrated experience of working in diverse and inter-disciplinary teams; as well as planning and managing the process to produce outputs from these teams. Demonstrated exposure at the international level.

Desirable: Thorough knowledge of vector biology and control and entomological aspects of vector-borne diseases and familiarity with contemporary issues relating to public health vector control. Demonstrated knowledge of WHO's coordinated global approach to controlling vector-borne diseases. Understanding of the general principles and standard procedures for laboratory and field evaluation of public health vector control tools including research and development of innovative technologies, and how to interpret research data. Sound understanding of vector control product development processes and procedures at global levels, including WHO policies for public health vector control product testing and evaluation. Excellent presentation skills. Ability and integrity to handle confidential documentation provided to WHO.

 

Skills

Comprehensive understanding of vector-borne diseases, and epidemiological evaluations designed to ascertain the impact of public health interventions against relevant pathogens, including that of trial designs and associated statistical analyses. Ability to work quickly and willingness to manage delivery of materials under time pressure and short deadlines; Demonstrated ability to understand and write technical reports; including ability to demonstrate initiative and work on her/his own after instructions from supervisors, willingness and ability to take responsibility. Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize workload, in a pressured environment with competing demands and high expectations. Ability to systematically keep track of actions. Excellent interpersonal skills, including integrity, good judgment and diplomacy. Ability to work as a team in the VCAG secretariat, and other cross-cutting projects, including delegating tasks based on the skills of colleagues. Extensive knowledge on vector-borne disease transmission, epidemiology and associated control of such diseases, developed through experience working in the field of vector-borne diseases, particularly on one or more NTDs.

REMUNERATION

 

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 62,120 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 4628 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.

Purpose of the Position 

 

The Technical officer (vector control) will play a key role in the implementation of the Global Vector Control Response (GVCR), and the Vector Control Advisory Group (VCAG). 

 

To assist WHO in developing public health policy on new tools, VCAG assesses the public health value of new vector control interventions and provides guidance on developing the evidence base required to inform such assessments. An intervention is considered to have public health value if it has proven protective efficacy to reduce or prevent infection and/or disease in humans. Based on the advice of VCAG, WHO develops policy recommendations for new vector control interventions via its Guidelines Development Groups for the approval of the Malaria Policy Advisory Group (MPAC) and/or Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Neglected Tropical Diseases (STAG). The work will involve extensive interactions with staff in other departments as part of VCAG secretariat (GMP, NTD and PQ).

 

The WHO World Health Assembly (WHA) had adopted Resolution WHA70.16 to implement the Global Vector Control Response 2017–2030. GVCR in coordination with other technical units at the HQ and the regional focal points.

Organizational context (Describe the individual role of incumbent within the team, focusing on work environment within and outside the organization)

 

Reporting to the Head of the Veterinary Public Health, Vector Control and Environment (VVE) Unit of the Department of the Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) and in close collaboration with the Team Lead of the Prequalification of Vector Control (PQT-VC) team the incumbent will coordinate tasks associated with the assessment of public health value of new vector control tools supported by VCAG. In addition to this, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, and maintaining practical tools and initiatives that can support the coordination and implementation of the GVCR.

 

VCAG has three key functions:

  • To provide guidance to product developers, innovators and researchers, through WHO, on the generation of epidemiological data and study designs to enable assessment of the public health value of new vector control interventions; 
  • To assess the public health value of new vector interventions submitted to WHO; 
  • To provide advice to WHO on the public health value of new interventions. Respective GDGs will then develop policy recommendations based on this advice and for approval by MPAC and/or STAG.
  •  

    The Technical Officer will: (i) ensure timely review of new data when these are available, (ii) support the development of policy and operational guidance documents in collaboration with PQT/VCP when appropriate; (iii) organize Evidence Review Groups or other advisory groups to support WHO's work in the area of new vector control interventions when required, and support the finalizing the VCAG meeting reports. The Technical Officer will also participate in the VCAG Secretariat meetings, which is comprised of staff from WHO's GMP, NTD and PQT-VC.

  • Support VVE unit in capacity building for GVCR implementation focused on NTD vectors.
  • Develop reports for senior management and stake holders upon request of PQT/VCP review technical documents developed by PQT/VCP to ensure alignment with NTD on technical issues and operational policy.

    Functional Knowledge and Skills

    Describe the essential knowledge and the skills specific to the position

    Comprehensive understanding of vector-borne diseases, and epidemiological evaluations designed to ascertain the impact of public health interventions against relevant pathogens, including that of trial designs and associated statistical analyses.

     

    Ability to work quickly and willingness to manage delivery of materials under time pressure and short deadlines; Demonstrated ability to understand and write technical reports; including ability to demonstrate initiative and work on her/his own after instructions from supervisors, willingness and ability to take responsibility. Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize workload, in a pressured environment with competing demands and high expectations. Ability to systematically keep track of actions. Excellent interpersonal skills, including integrity, good judgment and diplomacy. Ability to work as a team in the VCAG secretariat, and other cross-cutting projects, including delegating tasks based on the skills of colleagues.

     

    Education Qualifications

     

    Essential

    An advanced university degree (Masters level or above) in public health, or medical entomology, or closely related field.

     

    Desirable

    Extensive knowledge on vector-borne disease transmission, epidemiology and associated control of such diseases, developed through experience working in the field of vector-borne diseases, particularly on one or more NTDs. 

     

    Experience

     

    Essential

    At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of trials to evaluate public health interventions and/or research in vector-borne diseases. At least 2 years' experience working independently in project coordination and/or management of a portfolio of vector control tools and associated research. Extensive experience of working in diverse and inter-disciplinary teams; as well as planning and managing the process to produce outputs from these teams. 

     

    Desirable

    Thorough knowledge of vector biology and control and entomological aspects of vector-borne diseases and familiarity with contemporary issues relating to public health vector control. Demonstrated knowledge of WHO's coordinated global approach to controlling vector-borne diseases. Understanding of the general principles and standard procedures for laboratory and field evaluation of public health vector control tools including research and development of innovative technologies, and how to interpret research data. Sound understanding of vector control product development processes and procedures at global levels, including WHO policies for public health vector control product testing and evaluation. Excellent presentation skills. Ability and integrity to handle confidential documentation provided to WHO.

Agile Coach Job Description

As part of our strategic investment and market expansion in Continental Europe we are looking to significantly strengthen our presence in the region. We are, therefore, looking for applicants who have a flair for new way of working, innovation, change management, mentoring, technology and are willing to take up challenging assignments.

As an Agile Coach, you will work on client-site engagements supporting the implementation of Agile and Lean methods and lead multi-year Enterprise Agile Transformations. You will contribute in conducting assessments for organizational readiness for Agile implementations as well as health of Agile implementations. You will provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, DevOps, Managers, Executives, and other Agile transformation partners through various Agile Frameworks to drive “value” at the right time in the right way.

Agile Coach Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide multiple Agile teams and support our client on their Agile journey: work with cross-functional, distributed teams to achieve higher levels of agility and drive adoption of best-practices of the agile methodology.
  • Drive Technology and Behavior change management, innovation and define new ways of working for customer and internal delivery team
  • Define KPIs to measure success and have right touchpoint to retrospect
  • Train/ facilitate and mentor distributed teams in overall agile/ lean values/ practices and specific frameworks/ methods/ way of working (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, SAFe etc.) to ensure best in class delivery. Build next level team to support the 
  • Generate client interest in solutions other than the current, proactively positions the company for additional/ added value work.
  • Represent in industry forums and speak on how Cognizant is bringing best practices in BizDevOps model
  • Coach teams through Agile ceremonies, including Iteration Planning, Daily Standup, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Demo, Retrospective, and PI Planning - transitioning responsibility to the team over time
  • Participate in proposals and create relevant content. Ensures quality estimates, leveraging past data, experience, other forms of estimation, other teams, etc.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, operate at senior management level to help innovation and ensure the medium and long term strategic goals of the organization are achieved.

Agile Coach Qualifications & Experience:

  • Seasoned Agile Coach with proven track record and rock solid, hands-on experience with agile/lean transformations and global delivery
  • Exposure to end-to-end software delivery, project management, enterprise architecture, DevOps toolchain and/or service management methodologies
  • Preferable good technical capabilities in any of the technology streams – Microsoft .NET, Java EE, SMAC (Social, media, Analytics and cloud) technologies
  • Large enterprise deployment experience in complex heterogeneous environments
  • Team player, applied facilitation and mentoring skills, in particular at team and individual level
  • Excellent influencing skills, in particular problem solving/troubleshooting activities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a resilient and flexible manner
  • Fluent in both German and English language skills (written, spoken) are a pre-requisite

Preferred (but not a must-have):

  • Scrum Master and Agile Certifications (SPC, Scaled Agilist (SA), CSM, CPO, etc.)
